Nature and climate of Beijing

Hello there!

I’m very exciting to tell you about our latest visits because once more we’ve got a whole bunch of experiences to share with you.

The next country we certainly all wanted to visit was Beijing, the capital of China. Beijing is known for his unique buildings, interesting culture, amazing sushi and much more. But I’m going to give you a bit information about Beijing’s nature, climate and geography.

Nature

I’ve heard a lot about the beautiful valleys and green nature in common so I know I would get a lot of wow-feelings on this trip. The first place we wanted to visit because we heard a lot of impressive things about it was the Shidu Scenic Area.

The Shidu Scenic Area also renowned as Green Mountains and River is absolutely a recommend for those who’re going to visit Beijing. There are a lot of beautiful valleys in this creation of nature.

The thing I liked very much was the feeling when I closed my eyes and you could hear the sound of the flowing water and several sounds of animals.

The Shidu Scenic Area is located in Shidu which is about 96 kilometres away from the city centre of Beijing. We had to spend a couple of hours on the bus before reaching the beautiful area, but besides that it was worth visiting.

There are also a lot of things to do in the green nature park. You can exercise some extreme sports such as bungee jumping, flying canyon, drifting on Baida River, etc…

We had also another recommend to visit and then we’re talking about the Wuling Mountain.

This impressive mountain is situated at Miyun District. In 2007 it was chosen to be the most beautiful mountain of Beijing suburb. When you look at the picture on the left you will probably agree. The main peak sticks out 2,118 metres above sea-level.

For the plant and animal freaks this is an absolute recommend, you can discover about 1,870 kinds of different plants and 173 kinds of wild animals.

Besides it unique views it’s also an ecological system which is a benefit for the city.

Climate

In Beijing has it coldest month in January, which is quite normal. The hottest months are June, July and August. We can compare their climate a bit with our climate, hot summers and cold winters. Although, Beijing has rather cold, dry and windy winters in comparison with our windy, snowy, wet winters. In autumn it’s normal in Beijing that it rains a little bit but it’s nothing in comparison with the Belgian rainy days. When we were walking around in Beijing it was a very normal temperature for the time of the year, approximately 12 degrees, which is almost the same as in Belgium.

I hope you liked reading my new adventure story and I hope to be interesting enough so that you will read my next auspicious stories.

 Hear you later dear readers!

Melissa
